August 11th, 1973 is a date well known as the birth of Hip-Hop. This was the night that DJ Kool Herc threw his sister Cindy Campbell a back to school party at the Rec Room of their building in the Bronx at 1520 Sedgwick Avenue. On this night DJ Kool Herc isolated the breaks with his turntables and created “the breaks”. Coke La Rock was at the party on the mic, rapping, rhyming, calling out names and more.
